AWS re:Invent 2018 Day 0
As soon as I landed in Las Vegas, I discovered you can now register directly from the airport!
That should be a real time saver, last year there were so many lines on Monday for registration.
During registration, everyone got a sweatshirt and a water bottle.
The water bottle is supposed to encourage attendees to avoid single-use cups and reduce waste.
With the Fill it Forward application, you can scan your bottle each time you refill and see your impact.
While waiting in line for we were informed that we were about to attempt to break 3 Guinness World Records :
- Largest Air Drum Ensemble
- Most People Lighting Glow Sticks Simultaneously
- Largest Chicken Wing Eating Competition
All at almost the same time and in the same room.
Hiber presented their product: a low-power and low-cost global area network powered by satellite connectivity and AWS.
Bill Vass, VP storage, Automation & Monitoring announced the first launch of re:Invent: AWS RoboMaker.
This new service will help you to develop, simulate, test, and deploy robots.
This day was just a glimpse of what the rest of the week is going to be!
